Here is another fun way I flipped that Raglan pattern :)
This time I decided I kind of wanted it gathered in the front and on the sleeves, making the sleeves kind of fluttery and accented by a ribbon. Admittedly, it did not turn out as planned!
Honestly, I think I could have done a better job if I hadn’t sewn the neck band on with my serger. I kind of lost all my fun gathers and it looks a tiny bit sloppy… Also it ended up very big around the lower armpits. And those sleeves are not near as fluttery as I wanted, but that also had a bit to do with shortage of fabric.. This knit by the way was picked up at Joanne’s over a year ago… Not sure if it is still there.
I love it though and I will totally tweak this design to get it right! Millie loves it too, she refused to take it off for 2 days :)
Since I only have the pattern from 6-12 mos to 4 yrs and Millie is a very big 4 year old, I just lengthened the bodice so it wouldn’t be a belly shirt on her :) Turns out I can also taper it in a bit! I’m sure one of the reasons it got baggy was because of the way I made the gathers, I think I’ll test out a different method next time.
One of the reasons I’ve been totally enjoying this pattern is just how FAST it is!! I can churn one of these babies out in like 30 minutes, no problem, which is FANTASTIC since both kiddos kind of hate when I sit by my sewing machine these days, lol! Well, Millie is okay as long as she knows I’m sewing for HER, but Quinn just all around hates when I step anywhere NEAR that thing. He has been SUPER attached to me lately! Don’t get me wrong, I love the love and attention, but I also like to have some “me” time!
Okay on to the silly pictures..
Millie is hilarious and LOVES being in front of the camera, as long as she is being totally ridiculous, lol. There is not much seriousness in this little lady’s personality!
And I had to add this hilarious picture because again, Millie’s face kills me. she is really into winning the “race” hahaha! Man I love these kids!
