A Glittery Revisit to the Ethereal Dress

You bet your bippy there is an affiliate link in this post ;)

Ethereal Dress

When Millie decided to wear this dress for the day, I got really excited, I made it AGES ago but never blogged about it! And now that my passion for blogging has been reignited, I grabbed my camera and took it with us, knowing I’d find some sort of opportunity to take pictures of her during the day.

The pattern is Figgy’s Ethereal dress. I had made it once before, and since Millie wore the other one ALL. THE. TIME, I thought she would want to wear this one just as often. I was dead wrong. I am not sure why she doesn’t opt to wear it, she says she loves it, but there is always another dress that she prefers. (life of a mom who makes her kid’s clothes- constant disappointment, lol)

The fabric is Michael Miller Glitz Metallic Confetti. It is a super fun border print, and I knew I was going to use it to make this dress the second I bought it. I was excited to have the gold dots really concentrated on the flare and the bottom of the skirt. Everything came out exactly as I imagined and I adore this little dress. I just wish she would wear it more often!!!

Also, what happened to Figgy’s patterns? Is she still designing? I always loved everything she did. Such a cool style, kind of grown up and little girly at the same time. Awesome.

Speaking of little girly, looking at these pictures makes me super happy. Millie is still such a sweet little thing, but every once in a while she seems like she is growing up WAY too fast. The other day she was playing with her hair in the mirror and was like “I look really pretty, my hair looks really pretty like this. I almost look like a teenager!” I was like “NOOOOOOO!!!” Too soon, too soon!!! I am so not ready for the teenage years. 6 happened so fast, I would like to enjoy this time of innocence as long as possible :)

  1. Shelly has a book coming out soon about teaching girls to sew, which is what she spends most of her time doing. I’m hoping it’ll have some clothing patterns, though!
