Down time

Sweet Quinn enjoying his quilt on Flamenco Beach

So far being on this island has been super relaxing and amazing! We rented a house that only has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom inside and our kitchen/living area is actually outside, which is AWESOME because we are forced to be out in nature during waking hours. Even with the trillions of mosquitos, the huge 3 inch long red scary spider that hangs out on the patio, the sugar ant invasion if we leave food out for more than a minute and the damn bee sting I got yesterday, it is really nice to be forced outside.

I don’t know if you can tell in this pic, but there are hundreds of bees swarming around this tree blossom thing right above where we hang out.. scary!!!

So since I have been waking up between 6 and 7am and the kids aren’t waking up until 9 or 10, there has been a lot of down time here, which is great! But I wish I brought some sort of project with me! I’ve been reading a lot about English paper piecing lately and I really want to try it out, I should have brought something with me to occupy my hands! I keep thinking about those bees and how fun it would be to do some honeycomb inspired pillow or something. Oh well, I’ll just have to store these project ideas away for later. Until then I will be keeping myself busy reading, kayaking, feeding fish off the dock, relaxing on a beach and enjoying this sweet time I have with my family¬† :)
